What is a Demi Parure?

Demi Parure

A Demi Parure is a matching set of jewelry consisting of several pieces - often a necklace, earrings and a pin, all of the same design and made to be worn together. Depending on the number of pieces in the original set, it can be referred to as a semi parure. This term is not to be confused with a "married" set, which is just a set which matches closely. To be a true demi parure, the pieces must have been manufactured to be worn together.

There are many combinations possible - i.e. - a necklace/bracelet, necklace/earrings, brooch/earrings, bracelet/earrings, etc. When all pieces of the original set are present, the set is called a Full Parure.

Examples of Demi Parures: The first picture is a married set. The others are actual demis.
