I am delighted to offer you another example of my Murano Millefiori jewelry line.
This lovely pair of pierced earrings features a blue colored tear shaped Murano millefiori glass cabochon which is set in sterling silver. The outer rim of the earrings also has a sterling tear shape as well. The cabochon is made from genuine Murano millefiori glass made in the island of Murano. The designer is Alan K and the design is hand made. The finish is also rhodium plated which gives it a lustrous appearance. Sterling Silver Pierced Ear Wires are signed 925 and the back of the drop is also signed 925 Alan K. The earring wires are thin at the area which goes through your ear but more solid up to that point.
The earrings are sized 1 7/8 x 11/16" to the top of the earring wire.The back of the setting is also embossed with tiny flowers which is apt, since millefiori literally means "a thousand flowers."
Millefiori is a type of Murano glass that has been incorporated with various layers of colors to create beautiful flower-like patterns. Millefiori is the name of the cylindrical, long glass rods which contain a specific pattern along its entire length, so that when cut into slices from one end, the particular pattern will be revealed. This style of glass has been around since the Middle Ages and more recently, have been produced for fine jewelry items.
Never worn in excellent condition. The bracelet comes with a small printed insert which describes the process of making millefiori glass. Guaranteed hand made and genuine Murano millefiori glass.
Please note that since Millefiori glass is entirely hand made, the flower design in the glass may vary just slightly from this photo.
