Product Description
Stunning abalone and alpaca silver vintage belt buckle. The buckle is cast in sterling and features abalone inlay with a bright blue enamel bird center.
Marked Alpaca on the back. Size is 3 1/4 x 2 1/16". Alpaca silver is an alloy that is made of approximately 60% copper, 20% nickel and 20% zinc, with 5 % tin. It is often used as a substitute for silver and is found in many Mexican designs. Also known as German Silver.
Gently used fine vintage condition. There are some minor imperfections in the abalone along the edges, but these don't detract and appear much less than my close up scans show.
